What is an Adverb of Frequency?

Adverbs of Frequency are the words that indicate the frequency at which an action takes place. It satisfies the question, ‘how frequently‘.

Examples:

  1. People never like to hear lies.
  2. The singer hardly took a breath while rendering the song.
  3. Rohit usually visited our house in the evenings.
  4. You should take this medicine thrice a day.

In the above sentences, the verbs (like, took, visited and take) are explained with the help of adverbs of frequency (never, hardly, usually and thrice a day) respectively.
