The other day you decided to go with your friends to a Russian circus, famous for its extraordinary animal shows. Though you went there to enjoy yourself, you returned home highly disturbed. You felt miserable at the cruel ways and methods used at the circus to make the animals perform antics and dangerous feats. In anguish you decide to write an article on the institution of circus for publication in a national daily.
Cruelty to Animals in Circus
The cruel ways and methods used in circus shows to make animals perform antics and dangerous feats deserve condemnation.
Last Sunday, I went to see the famous Moscow Circus in Delhi, being performed at the Parade Ground near the Red Fort. The circus is famous for its extraordinary animal shows. No doubt, it was a grand show. It kept the spectators spellbound for three hours. However, for sensitive souls like me it was a constant torture.
I felt really miserable at the cruel ways and methods used by the ring-masters. They made the animals perform antics and dangerous feats. The horses were whipped regularly to perform antics and jumps. The elephants, tigers and lions were made to dance to the electrically charged whips. I couldn’t stand this cruelty and torture towards animals and I came out of the circus in disgust.
I want to arouse the conscience of all animal lovers. They should wage a movement against this cruelty and torture towards the helpless animals in the circus shows. The circus owners who indulge in such barbaric and inhuman acts must be punished by the law.
