What is a Demonstrative Pronoun?

The words which point out or indicate some noun are called Demonstrative Pronouns.

Examples:

  • This is my pen.
  • Is that your house?
  • These are the children that live in my neighbourhod.
  • Those are some fresh fruits.
  • Such are the rewards of loyalty.

In the above examples, This, That, These, Those, and Such are demonstrative pronouns as they point out some nouns in their respective sentences.
