Dear Ramesh

I have come to know that you are spending all your time with your books and you stood first in your class. I was very happy to know that. At the same time, I was sad to know that you are not keeping fit. Mother told me that you do not take part in sports and extra-curricular activities of the school.

Well, Ramesh, work is worship, but overwork is harmful both for mind as well as for body. There is an old saying that ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. It is good to devote full attention to your studies. But, to be a bookworm is to invite health problems. Brain also needs rest. Do not forget that a sound body is a must for a sound mind.

Reading all the time is not good. You must concentrate on all round development. I would advise you to take part in games. All organs of the body become active after playing. Games are also a source of entertainment. I hope you will pay heed to my advice and start participating in games as well. Games will refresh your mind as well as body and you will be able to concentrate more on your studies.

With best wishes

Yours affectionately

Gulshan
