Essay on Nature

“Green is the prime color of the world, and that from which its loveliness arises.” – Pedro Calderon de la Barc

Beauty of nature is unlimited, divine and full of blessings for humanity. It has always been the first inspiration for artists and creators around the world. There is vast number of works of art, poetry and music that revolves around the beauty of nature and has attracted people around the world, and which.  The flowing rivulets, the dancing wind and birds, the smiling flowers and the lofty mountains are only some of these beauties. Beauty of nature is characterized by the wonderful and unique diversity of flora and fauna; their colors, variations of sizes, shapes that exist in various parts of the earth, varied seasons,  and the rising and setting sun in its varied and unforgettable glory as well as the unique terrain of mountains, water, plateaus and forests etc.

Nature’s beauty not only pleases us at the moment of seeing it but continues to thrill us even afterwards, filling our hearts with joy, goodness and happiness. To enjoy the sublime sights and sounds of nature, we must open our inward eyes and ears. Nature is an integral part of our lives, it reflects our moods. When the sun shines, we feel happy and hopeful. Studies have shown that by interacting with the nature, spending time in it, experiencing it and appreciating it, one can reap the benefits of feeling happier and healthier as a result.

“Look deep into nature, and then you will understand everything better.”  – Albert Einstein

In this present world, even while we appreciate the blessings the nature bestows on us, we forget that we are plundering her treasures and thereby denying our children the pleasure of enjoying nature in all her abundance and variety in the future. Every time we cut down a tree, every time an oil spill despoils the ocean, let us remember that we are destroying the most precious inheritance we can leave behind for our children. We are too much engrossed in worldly pursuits, which are keeping us from discovering the beauties of nature: listening to the singing of the birds, watching the clouds moving majestically across the sky or the starry sky. Wordworth rightly laments:

“The world is too much with us. Late and soon,
Getting and spending, we lay waste our powers.
Little do we see in Nature that is ours”
