Fables

Fable is a short story, typically with animals as characters, conveying a moral. The purpose of fable is to teach children lessons about moral living. The characters of a fable may be animals, plants and legendary creatures. When animals are used in fables, they think and talk like people, even though they act like animals.

Aesop’s fables are most popular. His fables are full of humour, insight and savage wit, as well as many fascinating glimpses of ordinary life.
