Dear Sir

Through the columns of your reputed newspaper, I wish to draw the attention of one and all towards the dwindling forest cover which is threatening the environment.

This is not only threatening the habitat of millions of species but is also endangering water resources due to less rainfall.

We all are aware that trees are an essential part of our environment but their number is shrinking, and is posing a threat to the ecosystem.

Forests are the givers. They provide medicine, food, rain, wood etc, to us. Moreover, they cause rainfall which is required for the ground water level to come up.

If attention is not paid to this threat, we might face an acute shortage of water. I request you to publish this letter of mine in your newspaper so that everyone starts paying attention to it and start planting trees instead of cutting them. The concerned authorities also must look into it and do the needful.

Thanking you.

Yours sincerely
Kunal
